Microsoft Outlook supports the POP method for downloading e-mail from the our  Mail server.

  1. Click the "Add" button, select "Internet E-mail" and click OK.

  2. Under the General tab, enter a nickname by which you want to refer to this new service, and enter information about yourself as requested.

  3. Switch to the Servers tab and enter the following information:

    Incoming mail (POP3): mail.omninet.net.au

    Outgoing mail (SMTP): smtp.omninet.net.au

Account Name: <insert your usename here>

Password: <insert your password here, if you want Outlook to remember it>

  4. Click OK to finalize your settings.

In order to activate the new service you just added, you must exit and logoff and then restart Outlook.

If you wish to check for new mail automatically, go to the Tools menu and click "Options". On the "Internet E-mail" tab, check the box that says "Check my local network connections for new mail every xx minutes" and enter a value greater than or equal to 15 minutes.

You have now successfully configured Outlook 2000 to download and send email using the Omninet Mail servers.
