The accusative case is the equivalent of the object of a verb in English. According to Wilf Douglas, suffixes indicating subject and object are only used 'to avoid ambiguity or to supply a subtle emphasis'. Subject is indicated by the use of the -al or -il suffix. Douglas also writes the '-in' suffix shown here as -inj' ('-iny' in modern orthography)
The Ablative case is the equivalent of the preposition 'from' in English as contrasted to the dative('to') in Latin but as can be seen this distinction is not made in Noongar .
