The third of our doctrinal standards, Cannons of Dort, also called the Five Articles against the Remonstrants. The Synod of Dort, 1618-1619, was concerned by the serious disturbance in the Reformed Churches caused by the rise of Arminianism. Arminius, a theological professor, departed from the reformed faith concerning five important points.
The Cannons point out the error and the Reformed doctrine on each of these five points. |
