These pages are dedicated to puzzle, logic and other games written by Fred Pence. These games can be ordered through Spoonbill Software.
FP ALPHABETICAL WHEELHOUSE 1.0 (1.4 MB)
To solve this puzzle arrange the letters in alphabetic sequence as shown in the bottom left-hand corner. You try to do this in the smallest number of moves. Rotate the track either clockwise or counterclockwise one letter at a time, or reverse the order of the five letters in the central circle.
FP BARREL ROLL 1.0 (1.4 MB)
This a simulation of a barrel with four horizontal disks rotating around a central axis. There are six columns of four rectangles. By rotating the disks (sliding the horizontal rows left and right) and moving the rectangles into the one gap from directly above or below, you rearrange the pieces until each column consists of a single color (the blue column will only have three rectangles along with the blank space).
FP CIRCLE PUZZLE 1.0 (1.4 MB)
Four circles intersect in a square pattern with a lens shaped area in common between two circles. Rotate the circles until each circle is a solid color.
FP COLOR PALETTE 1.0 (1.4 MB)
A puzzle based on Doug Engel's Palette 21 consists of 21 red, blue and green squares resting inside a 5 by 5 base. A cross-shaped frame encloses the squares and by moving this sliding frame manipulate the pieces until the colored squares are all located together as shown in the objective.
FP COLOR PUCK 1.0 (1.4 MB)
One of the hockey puck puzzles consists of 12 colored sections located around a central hub. There are two sections each of six colors and by rotating them around the central hub, or flipping the right-hand half of the puzzle around the horizontal midline you can interchange the top three pieces with the bottom three pieces. The puzzle is solved when like colored pieces are all located together.
FP COLOR SLIDE 1.0 (1.4 MB)
There are twenty four colored squares (4 of 5 different colors and four blue squares). By clicking on a square that lies either in the column or the row where the blank space is located, all pieces between the clicked square and the empty space move forward; this counts only as a single move even though more than one square might move. When each horizontal row consists of a single color the puzzle is solved.
FP DALI'S CLOCK 1.0 (1.4 MB)
This is a variation of the Mad Triad puzzle. By rotating the disks rearrange the numbers until they are in the order of the numbers on a clock face.
FP GOLDEN EXPECTATIONS 1.0 (1.4 MB)
This is a variation of the Hockey Puck puzzles. The letters make up the word EXPECTATIONS; the front consists of these letters on a golden background while the opposite side of the pieces contain the same letter on a white background. By rotating the letters around the central hub, or flipping the right hand half of the puzzle across the horizontal midline, rearrange the letters to spell the word EXPECTATIONS, with each of the letters on the golden background.
