Introduction to Devon Road:
The Devon Road Wine Club is a group of friends who get together once a month to enjoy good wines and pleasant company. Meetings are usually in the evenings, commencing with the blind tasting some six or seven wines, then we sit and enjoy a meal together, with food brought by differnt people each meeting. In general, it is the wine, rather than the food, which plays a major rôle in the proceedings. However, the club does sometimes change the meeting format, with trips to the country or to local vineyards, and the occasional lunch.
It was a wonderful Saturday lunch, matching food to wine, which inspired the collection of this set of recipes, representing some of the favourite dishes presented over the time we have been meeting.
The lunch? It consisted of six courses, as follows:
