Released October 2018 B G Boxes is a blind accessible version of the pencil and paper game called Boxes. The game is played on a grid of dots. Two players take it in turns to connect two adjacent dots with a line either horizontally or vertically. As the game progresses, if a player can draw a line which completes a 1 by 1 box, that player claims the box and takes a bonus turn. The player continues drawing lines and claiming boxes until a line drawn does not complete a box, when the turn passes to the other player. When all the boxes in the grid have been claimed, the game ends and the player who has claimed the most boxes is declared the winner. In this version, the two players are you and the computer. At the start of each game you can choose one of four board sizes, 3 by 3, 5 by 5, 7 by 7 or 9 by 9. You can also choose the skill level of the computer player, and whether you or the computer goes first. Because the board always contains an odd number of boxes, there is always a winner. The game cannot be drawn. Click here to download the install file for BG Boxes |
